Distribution and Genetic Diversity Analysis of Myomimus roachi and M. setzeri
Mapping the distribution and genetic diversity of threatened mouse-tailed dormice with ddRADseq to set conservation priorities.
The DiGDivA-Mrs project aims to build a scientific basis for conserving the vulnerable Myomimus roachi and M. setzeri. Field surveys identify current and potential distribution areas, while samples collected across populations are analysed with ddRADseq to reveal genetic diversity and population structure.
Genetic results are combined with ecological and biogeographic data to identify the most threatened populations and conservation priorities. As the species range across Türkiye, Bulgaria and Greece, the project is carried out in collaboration with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
